  • Vacuum your rug once a week.

    If you spill something on the rug then try and tend to it immediately. Using a clean white cloth, dampen the stained area with room temp water. Leave the area damp and blot it to draw out the stain. If the stain persists then try it on a cold cycle in the washing machine. If you are unsure, have it cleaned professionally.

The Art Of Making

Our flat weave designs are woven at an artisan co-operative in Chunar, using a pit loom.

They are created by interlocking warp (vertical) and weft (horizontal) threads. The rugs woven using this method do not have a pile and are reversible.

A pit loom is literally hung over a pit dug out of the ground, and provides a comfortable seating position for the weaver. The pit creates ideal conditions for cotton weaving as it responds much better to humid conditions, preventing the yarn from becoming brittle and snapping.
